Explosive-laden truck rams into CID station, 8 killed, 42 injured

At least eight people were killed and 42 others were injured in the CID police station explosion.

According to sources, the explosion occurred when an explosive-laden car rammed into the wall of the CID police station near Gora Qabristan on Jamrud Road in Peshawar. The CID police station building was badly damaged by the explosion.

The intensity of the explosion was such that windows of the nearby buildings were shattered. Approximately 200 to 250 kilograms of explosive material was used in the explosion. The explosion was heard in the far flung areas from the site and people came out of their homes in fear. Shortly after the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and restricted movement of civilians.

Emergency has been declared in all the hospitals and rescue teams started a relief and rescue operation in the area. The injured were being shifted to the Khyber Teaching Hospital. The death toll in the blast has reached eight after another body was recovered from the rubbles.
